Taradiddle Contest #2 to be Launched Worldwide!

The countdown begins...

The Taradiddle Youth Writing Contest #2 is about to be launched this Thursday, September 15 - this time, worldwide! Writers 18 years and younger from around the world will start writing their creative stories about the mystery animal they have been receiving clues about when they receive the writing prompt this Thursday. They will have until the following Monday, September 19 to submit their stories to enter the contest.

And with this, it is imperative that we pause and thank the Taradiddle Youth Writing Contest Judges for their diligence and dedication in reading all the stories! Thank you to Julie Dahms, Jimbo Jacobs, and Anna Kelton, DVM. Words cannot express our gratitude enough.

While the contest will start this Thursday, there is still some time left for young writers to join the contest. More information can be found here .

Please join us in welcoming the newest Book Buddies team members, Pat Stevens and Claire Blu! Always ready to listen to a story in our Book Buddies reading program, Claire Blu is a real pro at being a therapy dog. Learn more about her below.

Age: 5 years

Type of dog: Cavaschon, part Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Bichon Frisé

Animal siblings: Wilson who recently retired from ten years of being a therapy dog, as well. They are best buds.

Favorite treat: Charlie Bears and peanut butter

Favorite trick: A happy dance!

Favorite past-time: Chasing rabbits, birds, and squirrels in the backyard

Favorite season: Fall

Favorite way to relax: Long car rides

Special skill: Following her nose to good scents

Nicknames: While Claire Blu has none, she was named after Pat's alma mater, UW-Eau Claire, and their mascot, Blu the Blugold

Favorite book genre: Fantasy

Book Buddies Reading Programs take place every second Saturday of the month between 9:30-11:25 am at City Dog Veterinary Clinic, 1004 East Washington Avenue near downtown Madison. Sign a child up to read to a certified therapy dog on our website .
