A New Dog is on the Block

You’ll be excited to hear – we have new Book Buddies to introduce you to! Please meet Karen Rahmeier and her dog, Alix. Karen has had Alix since puppyhood. Karen and Alix recently completed their certification with Alliance of Therapy Dogs to be a canine therapy team. They are delighted to be a part of the Book Buddies reading program and can’t wait to meet you!

Here are some fun facts about Alix!

Type of Dog: Golden Retriever

Favorite Treat: Alix is not picky and LOVES all treats!

Favorite Activity: Sleeping! Alix enjoys sleeping in her dog bed and sleeping in the office while Karen works. Alix also loves to play, especially fetch.

Favorite Season: Winter. Alix loves snow!

Favorite Toy: Her green squeaky toy and squeaky seal. Any squeaky toy is Alix’s favorite!

Special Skill: Alix is a pro at meeting and greeting. She’ll say ‘Hi!’ to everybody she meets.

Favorite TV show: Alix enjoys watching TV, especially mysteries on PBS. Her favorite TV show is All Creatures Great and Small.

The Book Buddies Reading Program takes place…

…every second Saturday at City Dog Vet Clinic (1004 E. Washington Ave. in Madison). Reserve a free 20-minute reading appointment by clicking on the button below. If you find a Book Buddies reading program already filled, you might find additional spots when checking closer to the date, as spots might open due to cancellations. Congratulations to the Authors of the Winning Taradiddle Contest #8 Stories!

Thank you to the participants of Taradiddle Youth Writing Contest #8! Young writers from around the world submitted a total of 112 stories about a giraffe with a unique characteristic unknown to humans. With much gratitude to the Taradiddle Judges, the winning stories were selected and can now be enjoyed!
