Introducing Lenny!

While Lenny has been filling in every now and then for the Book Buddies, he is now an official Book Buddy!

Here are some fun facts about Lenny.

Age: 5 years old?

Breed: American Crested guinea pig

Adopted from: the humane society

Animal sibling: Rosie Mae, a canine sister.  Every morning, when Lenny gets time out of his cage to run around and explore in a bigger enclosure, they enjoy hanging out together, on opposite sides of the cage. 

Favorite Treat: Lenny LOVES his guinea pig treats!! He also loves his daily fresh veggies. Basil, bell peppers, and kale are his favorites.

Favorite Trick: Lenny is learning to spin in a circle. He'll do this for his treat, sometimes not cued.

Special Skill: Lenny is given a "puzzle box" every evening, filled with his favorite treats. He has mastered the skill of grabbing hold of the box, tipping it back, and shaking the treats out of the box!

Favorite Book Genre: Mechanical Engineering

The Book Buddies Reading Program takes place...

every second Saturday of the month at City Dog Vet Clinic (1004 East Washington Avenue in Madison) from 9:30 - 11:25 am. Reserve a 20-minute reading session here , by email , or by calling/texting (608) 886-8849. 

every second Wednesday at Valor (for residents only) from 5-7 pm. Reserve a spot by email or calling/texting (608) 886-8849.

Tarradiddle Youth Writing Contest   #4  will begin on Thursday, July 20, when we start emailing weekly clues about the next animal to be featured.

If participating, please check your email inbox on Thursdays, starting on July 20. If you don't see it, be sure to check your spam folder!

It is never too late to sign up for the contests. Storytellers 18 years and younger can participate.  There are no entry fees, lots of fun animal stories to write, and prizes to win! More info and the sign-up can be found here .
